The real estate business is inconsistent and unpredictable, even for the most experienced agents. For most, the day you stop selling is the day you stop earning. When the well runs dry, there’s nothing left to drink. I don’t know about you, but I think that’s a scary proposition. That’s why I’m investing in my present and my future with eXp Realty’s amazing revenue share plan.
I’ve been an agent for over 8 years. I’m not what you’d call a grizzled veteran, but I’ve been around long enough to know that once I stop making those sales calls, the money stops coming in pretty soon thereafter. Sure, there are those few lucky agents who, either through circumstance, hard work or sheer charisma, manage to keep working off of referral and repeat business without much effort, but they are the exception, rather than the rule. And then, of course, they still have to actually do all the work involved in transactions. I think we all know agents who are still out there pounding the pavement well into their 60′s and beyond. And there’s nothing wrong with that…if you are both willing AND able. Personally, I think I’d rather be free to travel, write, visit my friends and family…to do just about anything besides sell homes, assuming I don’t end up sick or injured and incapacitated.
